Printing

To print or not to print that is the question. Printing your digital scrapbook pages is based on purely personal preferences. You have to do what works best for you and your budget.

Q: Do I have to print my pages?
A: No! You don't! There are many other ways to preserve and share your pages without printing.

Q: What are the different ways I can print my pages.
A: You can print your pages at home on your home printer, have them professionally printed, or have them bound into a hardbound, coffee table style book (which is a service that DSP offers in our store.)

Q: What type of paper should I print on?
A: This is purely personal preference. Most print on photo paper (either glossy or matte). But many have found they like cardstock or regular paper just as well. You can try a variety of different papers and see what works best for you.

Q: If I scrap 12x12 what are my options for printing?
A: You can buy a wide format printer to print at home. These printers are typically around $400. You will have to buy large paper as well, which is typically about $2 a sheet. You can also have your layouts printed professionally. Check your local printing places for prices. Many scrappers have their pages printed at Costco. You can choose at 12x18 print for $3. There are also online photo printing places as well. Another option is to have your pages bound into a hardbound book through DSP.

Q: If I print at home how much does it typically cost?
A: We have done multiple studies and have found that an 8x10 scrapbook page typically costs about $1.75 to print at home including the photo paper. 12x12's get very expensive to print at home because of the cost of the paper.
