Isn't this the sweetest thing for treats and party favors? Think
Wedding receptions, Halloween, Valentine parties, you name it!
These would be cute to take to Senior Care Homes holding a slice
of cake for a family member or more. The template is Fry
Box Template by Valeri Brumfield and this example also uses
Cookie
Pail by Kim Liddiard for the graphics. But you can use any
page kit to fill the template according to your theme or need.
Start with the solid black box template. In Paint Shop Pro, any
background or image that is open on your screen, even if minimized,
can be used as a fill. Lock the layer or select the black area,
and fill with the cookie background from Kim's cookie pail kit.
In other programs, you may have to layer the template over a background,
select it, then go to your chosen background layer and copy that.
Paste that into a new image and it has the same effect of making
that background the template shape. (This works in Paint Shop
Pro too).
Now you may digitally embellish just as you would any scrapbook
layout, adding photos and other elements.
One thing to keep in mind is on this particular template, the
bottom is the back of the box, so when the gluing is done, any
elements you place there will be flipped. This is why the drop
shadow on the spoon looks upside down on this view. Remember to
drop your shadows "up" for the back of the box.
Now layer the included folding lines over your finished box,
and lower the opacity to your personal preference - just enough
so you can see where to fold and cut the final piece. Print, cut,
and fold the desired number of boxes. A hot glue gun works fine
for assembling and is quick. Wrap your homemade cookies (or store
bought, but we all know you made them) in plastic wrap and tie
with a ribbon if desired!
Don't forget to document your fun in a scrapbook layout and post
it in your gallery so we can all see!
